Amy Herzog is Associate Professor of Media Studies at Queens College. She is also Coordinator of the Film Studies Certificate Program at The Graduate Center, CUNY, and a member of the Theatre and Music departments, and the Women’s Studies Program. She received her BA in film production and gender studies from Bard College, and her MA and PhD from the Program in Visual and Cultural Studies at the University of Rochester.
Her research interests include film, philosophy, popular music, and gender studies. She is the author of Dreams of Difference, Songs of the Same: The Musical Moment in Film (University of Minnesota Press, 2010). She is the co-editor of The Oxford Handbook of Sound and Image in Digital Media with Carol Vernallis and John Richardson (Oxford University Press, 2013). With Joe Rollins, she is co-general editor of the journal WSQ. She is currently conducting research on coin-operated film arcades and urban culture.
